LASAA FEVER - Where are our Doctors???

hey guys, i am still struggling with having the time to blog, i almost gave up today and called it quit until a friend encouraged me, so i drove into my compound and decided to blog in my car *peep the time* because i know as soon as i step into the house, i would have said goodbye to the blog. sharrat to those that believe in me, and sharrat to bloggers, writers etc out there. i didn't expect it to be this hard to cope..********************************************************************
so what is going on in Nigeria, what is going on in the world, what is going on with lassa fever, what is going on with our health facility and most importantly where are our doctors? i am sure you all know the disease flying around town, killing people and quarantine many others. it is called LASSA Fever,
you can Google up its definitions, prevention and all later, my problem about this particular virus is that it was first recognised in 1969 (47 years ago) i mean, that is like a decade ago and here we are loosing people to this diseases, just like that. Is lasaa fever the new malaria in our country Nigeria? isn't it painful enough that we are loosing lives to bombings, kidnapping etc, do we also have to panic towards something that could have been easily contained and cure found if we had a working health facility in place? why do our youths have to go to medical school for donkey years and yet no government to support their experiments? i am sure some of you will agree that if it were to be in some countries, the cure of this lasaa fever would have been found incase of any form of outbreak in the future. A country has to be always ready for things like this. what has the government been doing with our health budget. this is very sad because i can't comprehend how someone with signs of lasaa fever can be isolated and his health watched deteriorate until he dies. why do we have to know only how to prevent getting the fever and how to spot someone that has it only to have that person quarantined? why don't we have vaccines ready for this by now? what has our doctors been doing in the past 47 years without finding a drug for lasaa fever? why has the past governments that ever ruled seem to not be interested in sponsoring researches for the health sector? is it because they can always go abroad to get treated? for how long do we have to continue like this. i think we need to take more actions than mere words in this country no matter how difficult it is because we can't continue to watch people die like the cause of the fever in the first place. it could be anybody, friends or relatives but i think prayer works better for Nigerians than knowing the fact about the diseases and demanding for a solution/cure from our doctors because i was discussing with my friend the other day and asking her the situation of Lasaa fever in Port Harcourt where she is based and she replied "God forbid, i don't know anything about that disease, it is not my family's portion in Jesus Name" of which i quickly replied "Amen",lol. But whose family's portion is lasaa fever for? I think this is sad and not only a call out for our doctors who we know are not entirely at fault because of lack of support from the government but to our Health sector as a whole and those that have been put in charge in the past to help it grow but squandered and pocketed our money, we need an improvement, i think an improvement is not negotiable, we demand it so that we don''t loose loved ones to untimely death.
What are your thoughts on this? do you think lasaa fever could have been contained and completely eradicated if we had supported experienced doctors and a government that truly cares? Please drop your comments. Remember to read about it and tell your family and friends so that we can all prevent it to the best way that we can.
